“Vincent Through the Seagrass” began as a photo that I took of an Oceaniopteris Gibba fern growing in my yard. Using an Ai “Fotor”Van Gogh filter, the fern took on wavy undulating forms some spiralling like the Starry Night painting, which seemed like an obvious addition. The final result reminded me of the seagrass that the turtles a dugong eat along the bays of Queenslands coasts. I thus imagined looking up from under the water to the moon a stars which have been distorted by the rippling water above. I love the impasto texture created by the filtering which is very reminiscent of the masters own technique.
